I feel like an utter idiot and the guilt is tearing me apart, about 3 hours ago I took my indoor piggies outside for some fresh air , I put them in their pen and for some reason I didn't close the latch properly on the gate and now one of them is missing, I turned my back for literally a minute to go get some frozen ice veggies and when I came back one is gone I've turned the garden upside down there is no sign of blood or trauma so I think he's literally just wandered off I don't know what to do I feel sick I've looked everywhere I've tried leaving out veggies and pellets and I've left the gate open (obviously brought my other boy in) will be come back how do I get over this if he doesn't, I've been so stupid 😭😭

Oh so sorry for you. I would leave your other, piggie in the run if you can, he may come back if he hears in. If you have a travel cage then place it somewhere nearby with hay inside and a few pellets and see if he comes back. You could pop round neighbours are ask them to keep an eye out and perhaps play some piggie wheeling on your mobile ph9ne?

Good luck!

Also are there lots of hiding places in your garden? Piggies will usually stay close to cover and the edges of the garden. Under sheds? Keep quiet as he won’t come out if there is noise.

Gather up as much stinky peed on hay as you can and pop it out there. If it starts getting cold and dark maybe put a cardboard box on it side with the smelly stuff and something warm to snuggle in.

There are lots of success stories on here of piggies coming back so hope isn’t lost 🤞🤞🤞

A box full of used hay on its side, playing guinea pig noises and leaving his companion in the run when you can will hopefully draw him out!

Best of luck 🤞❤️

I found him or I should say next doors cat found him my heart when I saw it pounce on him and the sound he let out but I've had him at my vet and there is no wounds , and he surprisingly seems utterly fine I've to keep him under observation but fingers crossed he's gonna be ok and I'm so relieved to have him back meet frost

Poor Frost. I'm so glad he's alright. I changed my run to a top opening one after Peanut escaped, we caught him again quickly but it was a heart stopping moment.

Oh my. How worrying for you. So glad to hear the little chap is back and hopefully none the worse for wear for his adventure.

Phew! what a relief Frost has been found albeit be next doors cat and he's not injured despite his adventure.

Thank goodness, I'm glad you've found him. Maybe he'll think twice about escaping in the future?

Wow what a lucky escape Frost has had. I’m so happy he was found.

So glad to hear he came back.
My Bear is also an escape artist. Bear escapes at night, then probably runs around the house at night. One morning, he came running to me then put his paws on my feet. He was probably hungry and was glad to see me that morning.
Finn has never done this in his nearly 7 years of life. Bear is just about 2 yo, and best buddies with Finn.
