Could it be vermin poop or seeds off of a tree or something?
That's if I've been looking at the right things?

Do you have a close up of a single 'brown thing'?

It might be wise to throw all the affected food away & clean everything thoroughly, sorry I'm not sure what it is though?

What country are you in?

Where do they live - inside or out? Is that their bowl or feeding station? Looks like things that come off a tree but I’m not really sure. Is there something nearby - plant or tree - that they could have come off?

Is the rest of it a mix or dried treats etc?

They could be some sort of pellet that’s in the food that’s taken up moisture and fluffed out - like pellets do when you add water to them? If there’s a pellet in the food you think it might be, add some water and see how it looks whe it’s absorbed it.
