or do i take her to the vets asap and what would the vet do?

Ivermectin is the only medication that can treat mites. I would take to the vet. When one of mine had mites he had 3 injections 10 days apart. There is much debate about whether to inject or to use drops and also whether they shoudl have three injections as some give two.

I would seek advice from the vet. :)

Was it the vet that treated them? ?/
If it's mites they need Ivermectin which the vet can give in injections or on put drops on the back of the neck of the guinea pig. I bought some from here http://www.petvetcare.co.uk/acatalog/Healthcare.html called Xeno 50 or you can buy the Xeno 450 for larger piggies of more than 800g. I used two pipettes(although it recommended three) on Nemo as he was scratching a lot and had a few baldish patches and he's absolutely fine now.:)

Hi there.

It sounds to me that a visit to the vet will sort them.
If you haven't got a usual vet, then I suggest that you phone around your local vets and get a price before you visit.

I always go to the same vet, although I guess that they aren't the cheapest, but I have 110% trust in them.

If the piggies are biting at the itching ... it will be very unpleasant for them. It will be like an itch for you and I that you just can't scratch! :(

Keep us posted please.

They'll have to go to the vets for treatment. You can clean the wound with warm salt water and then cover with vaseline or the spray-on savlon to stop infection.

wheather or this is right thing not but i have put the not so bad one back in with the others just now and left the bad one with the cuts on her own .
the other seem to have settle in back quite good but only the morning will tell and the that id now on her own seem to be eating and moving around more now as she was just standing in one corner with the other in their with her ,since that has come out she seem happy on her own ,i will wash the wounds tommrow morning and then leave her on her own untill all the wound is healed and her hair as grown back to normal

Is the wound in the middle of her back? I have had guinea pigs with a huge long wound in the middle of the back and it was a bite mark from one of the other piggies - I have had it with both boars and sows. I would clean the wound with some cooled boiled water with a tiny bit of salt in and then put some sudocrem on the wound to help it heal. I've used this on Nemo when he got a sore underneath when he went off his legs a few weeks ago and it healed it all nicely.:)

hi you i have seen this before.treat with ivermectin and also i wased with microsorb wash if you can get that.It is a antibacterial wash for guineas and clears any secondary infection due to scratching etc.hope that help
