I went to feed my bunch this evening and noticed bibi attempt to pick her food up but for some reason she was struggling. I had a look inside her mouth and discovered that she last lost both of her bottom teeth. We have tried to hand feed her small pieces of veg which wasn't very successful, we are borrowing a blender from my parents so will blend some veg up and syringe feed her, anyone had any experience at all with this and can offer any advice? Also do the teeth take long to grow back?

Thanks

This depends on the reason for losing the teeth in he first place. Can you see any remains of the bottom teeth at all? Does she have a ramp or potentially had a fall from hieght? This is usually the suspects for any trauma to the teeth. I would consider getting her to a vet soon. Although the teeth have no nerves in if they have broken or been damaged below the gum line then I imagine it being sore. The top incisors will need monitoring as they will likely overgrow if the bottom teeth do not return or take some time to grow back.

Try soaking pellets to syringe into her, they are still able to get things into their mouths without incisors but it can take some time for them. If you can buy some critical care or supreme recovery food to syringe her over the weekend.

There is no ramp in their run but two of her cage mates had a fight today so I'm wondering if she got caught up in the melee, we haven't been able to see any remains of the teeth and we have a pouch of critical care already, how much should I give her?

I honestly don't know how to explain it, there was definatly no sign of teeth there yesterday evening. Is it possible if she bumped her mouth that her gum could of swollen up to give the impression she had lost her teeth?
