Please help me my 2year old guinea pigs got blood in his pee and I can't afford to take him to a vets what do I do?

Blood in pee can mean ALOT of different things. I would most commonly refer it with bladder stones (I sadly have a lot of experience with bladder stones). The only way to really determine what is wrong will be to take them to the vet :( they will probably need a x Ray. Is your squealing while peeing or having trouble peeing or pooping?

Unfortunately, the only thing that you need to do is take him to the vets. He either has UTI or bladder stones. Can you borrow money from family or friends? Your piggy's condition would turn worse if he won't have any treatments. He needs to be examined by a vet.

Are you based in the UK? If so you may be able to take him to the pdsa. Unfortunately there is no alternative with blood in the urine. It could simply be a UTI but an antibiotic will be needed which can only be prescribed by a vet

Blood in the urine is a common symptom of several issues in the urinary tract. This can reach from a bacterial urine (UTI) or bladder infection (cystitis) to bladder stones.

Bacterial infections require an antibiotic and bladder stones need an operation as they won't go away by themselves. :(

Vet cost are unfortunately making the overall largest budget part in the lifetime of any pet. It is vital that you save up for a vet fund as part of the weekly living and maintenance cost right from the start.

Yes I am based in the UK I will have look thanks for your help.

I’m leaning more towards stones. My dear Farley boy (may he RIP) squealed with his stones. Depending where it is, and how large it is your piggy may be able to pass it. Still take them to the vet ASAP as stones are very uncomfortable and painful. Most of the time they have to get them removed through surgery.

If you are in the UK, you could ask your clinic whether they'll agree to a payment plan if you have so far paid your bills promptly. ;)
