Help blood in pee

I feel yor pain , living where there are little to no vets that treat guinea pigs. Not ideal atall, but how the hell were you to know they need specialist vets, like you said
I feel sad thinking how many piggies would become food for dogs in these pet shops🙁 when I bought mine home they had really bad lice infection on them and there fur was shedding and they were just 3-4 weeks old! Nightmare pet shops but people don't have any other options too no one keeps pets for adoption here

The pet industry or whatever people call it, its a hell hole. I won't go on a rant because I have completely given up caring and am just focusing on the ones I can save. Itl stress you out, focus on your pigs and love that you saved them on time. Let the government rott in hell for not controlling anything

I'm sorry Ritika you're having such a difficult situation.
I've had a piggy with blood in wee and it was tested and wasn't bacterial so didn't need antibiotics, but showed high calcium, so I amended diet, there's info on that on the site.
My last piggy with urine infection had meds for a week but still had blood in urine.
I therefore really focus on the preventative stuff which you could do, low calcium diet, low stress, wet salad leaves/cucumber etc and following advice on here I sprinkle a capsule of cyctease on their food twice a day. It's for cats, is on Amazon, and to keep bladder healthy. Not sure if you could access cystease while you wait for a vet appointment?

I'm off for a daytime sleep. Back later. Thanks for asking about Alfie, I must get a picture of him for you. Il p. M you to keep the thread on topic 👍👍👍👍

There is a liquid or might be tablets, vegan glucosamine you can buy in human health shops. But I don't know what it is yet. I'm thinking about using it for Dots bladder. Il tag in two people I think know.

@Wiebke
@Gem789 ? 🤔
Yes you can buy vegan glucosamine from any health shop or supermarket. Even boots sell it I think.

Please don't worry anyone I totally understand everything and I ll not give her any medications without vet prescription❤ I am really happy that so many people are always here to help me❤❤ I update u guys soon about my piggy

It sounds like things have improved for your piggy, so just see how she goes for the next few days. Hopefully you won't have seen any more bleeding. However, it will be worth trying to find a guinea pig savvy vet, so you know where to go to in the case of any further problem.

Anyway, can we all be nice to each other! It's Friday night and I actually have a weekend off! It doesn't happen very often.

I am not sure why @SkyPipDotBernie has been reprimanded, as I can't see where he is supposed to have told the OP to source prescription drugs from somewhere other than a vet. If I have missed something, please point me in that direction, but I am sure Neil wouldn't have done that!

Have you put berries or anything red in? Could it be old from when there was blood in the wee and hopefully stopped?

Update guys.
She's sitting hunched alot of times a day and squeak while peeing.

And also her hair seems puffed up near her bum and vagina

So sorry to hear this @Ritika but sadly she really needs to see a vet to get urine tests done and possibly antibiotics and definitely pain relief prescribed. Is there not a college or university near by where you might find better informed people with veterinary qualifications who might help, rather than relying on local vets in practice if they will not treat guinea pigs?

I searched on Google @PigglePuggle the nearest vet college is nearly 700 miles from my home. My mum brought some metacam today from a known person but I didn't used it without a vet prescription. I seriously don't know what I should do now we called 2 vets again today still they said they can't help

Sorry for you, big hugs, you're a very caring piggy owner. When I get this as a human before I get to the doctor, I drink extra which makes it a bit more comfortable. Def feed lots of wet salad leaves or cucumber while you try to sort it out.

It sounds like the infection is starting to get underway. :(

Hang on in there; hopefully the vet who has agreed seeing you will be back next week!

Offer your girl water with a needle-free 1 ml syringe as much as she will drink voluntarily from it (do not force it in) twice a day to encourage her making a couple of large pees to flush out the bladder any bacteria in it.
