Hi guys. I've just noticed some rose coloured pee and it's coming from my 7 month old male himalayan. I've just checked his bottom end and it's definitely him as there appears to be some rose/blood around his penis. Not lots. What is this, should I be worried? Am thinking vets in the morning anyhow.

Could well be a bladder infection in which case the best course of action is an antibiotic like Bactrim/Septrin so a vet visit is your best bet. This would also rule out more complex things like bladder stones.

As has already been said - Vets is the best option. Hopefully it is just a UTI and a course of antibiotics and the all important probiotics will have him right as rain in no time.

thanks guys, no blood present this morning, but off to vets today. Will update you ?

Re: Help - blood in urine Update

Well Sam has been given anti-biotics and a pro-biotic. Vet says probably an infection as he's young to have anything more untoward hopefully. He seems fine apart from his pride being hurt a little. He was so insulted to have his bottom examined, you should have seen his face!

;D I am glad that is all the vet thinks is wrong, he should recover quite quickly.

Awwww Sam you poor little man, it is most disconcerting to have a butt prodded at :(

To help you get better quickly we're sending you these :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
