Help! Broken nail!

What do I do?! When I was cutting my boar's nails I noticed that he had a broken nail so it's kind of dangling off of his paw. What should I do? They're kept short so I wonder how it happened. Can anyone give me advice? Please help! :S
 
Dont panic, its just a nail. If its only dangling literally by a thread then it can be removed. It may bleed a little, but it will ok, so dont panic as it will stop. It will be fine and it will grow back. If you dont want to take it off yourself, just book your pig in to see a vet nurse tomorrow.

No problem. Nails are worrying but honestly, they are very minor issues and usually grow back with no problems. They are a lot like our nails. They can be damaged by little accidents on ramps or lots of popcorning.

Well I don't have a ramp in my hutch but they do popcorn! Bless them! I love them to bits amd anything that I'm not used to I get really worried...silly me! :)
 
Thanks :) thanks for the advice! When I get home, I'll check him again! It might of already come off, but I hope there isn't too much blood!
