Hi All,

Just found Correx on Ebay, it's thinner than the usual correx and is 3ft by 4ft so slightly smaller than what I need for three seperate cages. So I was wondering can you stick correx together with heavy duty tape? I've loads of that stuff as Peter got me loads of it from work for parcels etc on Ebay. And does it matter if it is 4mm thick, if so, can you just double it up which would make 8mm? Not sure if this is a mad idea?...lol

Thanks!

hey sunshine, i bought smaller sheets with it being cheaper and stuck them together.

i used the plastic insulating tpe and it wirked really well

Thanks Karen! :) Will reply later on.

Well I got the boys in the C&C Shed 4x2 for both of them, (that is 4x2 each not between them...lol) couldn't quite manage thr 5 by 2. I put Cuzzy in first and he was fine, then I put Sunshine and Twinkle in and as soon as they heard Cuzzy there were trying to find out who it was and they were stressing a little and Twinkle managed to poke his nose through the grid and tried to bite Cuzzy! So Cuzzy is back in the Nero 3.

The girls are in the Lavender Lodge and will be brought in of a night or all day if the weather is bad, I have a hutch hugger so they should be ok and they like their own space away from us to be honest. If the boys reacted that bad to Cuzzy being in the Shed it would be ten times worse with the girls! Cuzzy is back in the living room, he is such a people's pig but ideally I would like him to have a buddy. He popcorns all the time and doesn't bite his bars so I think he is happy enough but I know he would be even happier with another of his kind.

So Sunshine and Twinkle are in a massive cage as I took the divider down and let the have the whole space! I still have enough room for 5 rescue pigs, was hoping it would be double that if the boys could have lived with a divider but not to worry. 5 is better than none and I wanted to start small anyway! :)

I'll take some pics tomorrow I'm knackered now!

Thanks Guys,

Will post pics tomorrow. I wa a little disapointed that I couldn't get all pigs in the shed but there was no way Sunshine and Twinkle were going to be happy with that and really I'll go along with whatever they want as I wouldn't want to put them in the situation where they were stressing over it just because I wanted them all under one roof. I can adapt myself for them! :)

They are in a 4ft by 6ft C&C it's huge! It's single level but I do have more grids to make an upstairs, however I didn't think it was needed and they aren't used to an upstairs anyway. The girls are in the hutch with a hugger over, it's a mild night and they have tons of hay so will leave them be. They love their hutch but when the temp drops I bring them in in my spare Nero 3 for the night.

Cuzzy, the little is in the living room. I'm hoping once we are over the teenage stage he may accept a baby boar? I can't see my boys ever getting along but I will try and introduce him to another at some point. I felt sad for him as I put him in the C&C and then had to take him out. Peter said to try the girls with him next door but as he isn't neutered I couldn't chance it the little devil would probably jump over the grids!

I'll take some pics tomorrow. I thought I'd never get done today! Knackered now so off to bed!

Could you not put something on the grids to stop them from trying to bite each other?
I have the fine mesh grids and there is boars on side and sows on the other. I have had to cable tie the divider because clever Radley managed to get through a while ago, lucky I was there.
If you are worried about jumping over, pop some of your spare grids on the top, kinda like a roof, I have done this and I have one of the single pigs cages on top ot it.

Hi Emma,

The grids I've got a not the mesh ones but the plastic ones that you can't see through but the boys tried to get at one another through the little gaps between each grid. I just wasn't comfortable leaving them without supervision. I'm getting another shed in the spring so can make wooden hutches, Peter said he will do it for me.

Boys are a pain, lol!
I know the gap is small but its still worrying, I can understand.
I think I am extremely lucky with my four boars living next to 6 sows and the occasional squabble but thats normally over whos sitting where, lol.

Haha yeah my boys are very tame with us and love being made a fuss over but they are crazy! The girls are very placid as well but seem more laid back. I'm lucky that Sunshine and Twinkle do get on, the problem is Sunshine and Cuzzy are both dominate so it's never gonna work out I don't think, roll on Spring when I can get another shed. Peter also wants to do a pig garden so we can get food for them from that. So maybe we are going to becomning piggy self sufficint! :D
