so basically i have two guinea pigs(one year and a 6th month old) And we used to keep them with three other since we were sheltering three until my cosuins could get them. And they’ve been doing fine so far but last night i could just hear them cherping and fighting all night long. And they’re both female with the older one(mocha)chasing the younger one(pepper). And they’re being kept in a smaller temperary cage until my family moves into their new house where i can set up their bigger one. Any help with trying to keep them calm?

How long have they been together as a pair? It sounds like your sow has come into season for the first time as a top sow in her new group; that usually means a stronger season. Hopefully the drama should be over within a day.

Well we got mocha in late october and we got pepper in november/january. So they’ve been together for almost a year now. But mocha has a generally motherly type personality with her protecting pepper and pepper always hiding behind her. And i saw more of their behavior last night and mocha kept chasing pepper in and out of their houses and pepper started to bite one of the houses, luckily they seem a bit calmer today but both of them were biting my sister yesterday morning when she was giving them floor time.

Biting or nibbling on your sister? And make sure when u have the two guineas together that there’s two of everything. Seems like pepper might have tried to challenge mocha that’s the reason they got in a tumble that night. It also could be stress of being moved into a smaller cage. If u can I would recommend getting them in a big cage as fast as possible. They need a lot of room to be happy and content. Try to keep it quiet around them. They seem stressed as is.
