Hi everyone! 10 minutes ago I noticed that my guinea pig started sneezing A LOT! At some point he had an uncontrollable sneeezing (about 3 sneezes in 30 seconds). He seems better now,he still sneezes but not so often but I noticed that his nose is wet and he sprayed me when I held him to see if he's ok and he sneezed! The weather is hot here in Greece and he's not been exposed to airconditioning or anything like that.. He eats and drinks a lot as always, his weight is fine, his mood is fine too... But I'm so worried! (The first thing that came to my mind is take him to the vet's,but here in Greece I doubt if vets know what a guinea pig is...)

Sorry for the long post and the bad English and thanks in advace for your advice!

Maybe there was some dust in his nose or even a small piece of hay. If he is well now I would keep watching him for some time and see how he is in a few hours time.

I thought about this possibility too and I immediately took him out of his cage when I noticed that something was wrong... I'll stay up all night if I have to...

He looks ok now...it's been more than half an hour since the last sneezing..
Fingers crossed :)

Hi love, oh gosh what a fright that must've given you :{
Send some little kisses from my girls to your piggie xoxoxoxoxoxo

Oh by the way, your english was fine ! :)

It sounds like your piggie is going to be ok, but yes i'd still keep an eye on them xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>

Hope your piggy doesn't have any more nasty sneezing fits!
It does sound like maybe he had some dust or hay up his nose bless him

Also as Glynis said, your english was fine!

x

The word "fright" is very small to describe the way I felt!
Everything is ok now but I'll let him out of the cage for one more hour just in case..

P.S. kisses delivered ;))

About the "English" thing..I'm not a native speaker and I feel insecure when it comes to speaking or writing..that's why I feel the need to apologise :)

Thanks a lot for responding and relieving me!

ahhhhhh yes fright, should i have said you had a HUGE FRIGHT !

Don't worry about your english, we have many on here that are not native english speaking and i think like you, you all do so well ! :)

awwwwwww glad he liked his kisses xoxoxoxoxoxo

Oh he's a real cutie pie x)x)x)
My girls little hearts will beat looking at him :(|):(|):(|)

What's your weather like at the moment? have you had a really hot summer?

I'm trying to upload a new pic of him now that he's grown up!

The weather is still pretty hot during the day,but fortunately it's cooler at night! We still go to the beach every now and then! It's been a really hot summer..although we also had very strong storms, even hail! What about Australia?

Oh great i'll have to go look at his pigture drooldrooldrool

OZ weather is winter time, we're the opposite to you and the UK.
We've had a lot of rain, but no where near enough, where i live we've been in drought conditions for over 10 years now.........we are hoping not to have horrendous fires again this summer :{
Today is lovely tho the sun is shining, bit windy and about 12 at the moment :)

We had terrible fires a few days ago near Athens...I really hope you won't!

I know about the "opposite weather conditions".. When it's really hot in summer here,we say that we'll travel in Australia to cool ourselves a little and the other way round during the cold days of winter! It's pretty amusing to watch the news at Christmas and see you people at the beach dressed up like Santa! Really weird, since we have connected Christmas to snow and cold weather :))

The new pic is my avatar :)

OH MY x)x)x)x)
he's so gorgeous xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx oh maybe i could sneak over to Greece and piggie nap him? ;)xx>>>
Oh yes i heard about your fires i'm so sorry :(

LOL yeah in our winter i'd love to travel to a warmer country too !

Thank you soooo much for all these nice things you say about my piggy!
I must warn you however that I'm ready to fight for him, so you'd better stay away from him people! ;)

:) it's cause your piggie is sooooooooo lovely that we want to piggie nap x)x)x)

Oh yes we'll have to be clever to get past Sergio's owner ;)

Thank God you're sooo far away from me! :))

I have to go to bed now boys and girls..It's 4 in the morning here and since my sweetheart is obviously fine now, I have no serious reason to stay up any more!

Thank you all so much for everything :))

Sergio! He's sooo handsome. x)
I lived a little way over the water in Cyprus for a few years, don't think I ever came across guinea pigs over there though!

Sudden and frequent sneezing tends to be something irritating the nose - hopefully Sergio is well recovered now.

He's fine ever since last night! No sneezing at all! It seems that something got into his nose and caused all that mess :( I'm sooooo relieved! :laluot_03:
