Woodstock has his eyes shut - he has crusting round them. I think best poss scenario would be eye infection, but both eyes are like it. I am off to the vets this morning (only discovered it this morn) but scared what they might say, please send healing wheeks to him!
anyone got any idea what it might be? :'(

Sorry to hear that Starla, sending healing wheeks to Woodstock. It could be an Upper respitry infection and for that he needs antibiotics.

Good luck,

Louise

it's sounds like eye infections or URI or something. you're doing the right thing by seeing a vet O0 (((hugs))) :smitten: :smitten:

thanks for your kind words - if it's a URI does Iris his cagemate need to be treated too, it's infectious isn't it?

i think we all know how worrying it is to have a little one poorly :smitten: :smitten: i'm paranoid ::)
Umm i really don't know, my patch used to get URI's quite a lot, but we never had to separate Ginger :-\ See what the vet says O0
(((hugs))) I'm sure you little baby will be back on the mend soon :-* sending piggie kisses from my lot :-* :smitten: :smitten:

I had a pig with a suspected URI and my vet told me to get all pigs out of the air space so basically out of the same room. Cuzzy was a lone pig in our living room so it didn't apply but I would take Iris to the vet too for a check up and seperate until you know what it is to be sure.

Hugs,

Louise

Wishing you both the best from me and Wilf- fingers crossed for Woodstock! :smitten:

Frankee&Wilf

thank you frankee and wilf :smitten:

Vet says it looks like he does have the very beginings of a URI, his chest is not 'noisy' though. He has not been sneezing/coughing/had a running nose. So he is on baytril. He also has eye stuff, which begins with an F but I can't spell!
He is sleeping now. He lives in a garage with Iris, I asked the vet if I should bring them in but she said it's not really worth it, I worry about him though :-\ what would everyone else do?

I would bring him in and keep him as warm as possible. What did the vet say about seperating Iris?

He should be as right as rain soon, good you caught it early. :smitten:

she said Iris should be fine, but I am keeping an extremely close eye on her, too, just in case. Thanks for your help Louise x

No problem. Keep us posted on how Woodstock is! :smitten: x

Helen, Yep it is fucithalmic. It's sorted his eyes out very quickly.

Poor old Woodstock, he hates having his medicine ;D

Aw Ralfie had this when he had an eye infection and URI, he'll be all better in no time dont worry :smitten:

Do hope so, he's very quiet and still :'(

if the anti biotic starts affecting his eating habits, he could need pro biotic...apart from bio lapis, what is another good pro biotic? Can they only be got from the vets? I wonder if I should get hold of some science recovery or oxbow critial care...

awwwwwwwww poor Woodstock :'( :'( :'(
Be a good boy for mummy and have your meds it will make you better very quickly O0
Sending healing wheeks and loves from us both for Woodstock :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

It never hurts to have some CC or Recovery, it's fab stuff and it can be used to help boost their appetites as well. Sounds like you got on to this quickly well done love O0 O0 We'll be thinking of you both :smitten:

Hoping that little woodstock's turning the corner and doing all the right things for you :smitten: (((hugs)))
it might be worth getting some CC in or something, i like to have some all the time, just in case O0 Come on little guy you can do it! :smitten:

That is quite funny mary ;D poor old iris

He is brighter than he was but is still slow and it's pretty obvious something isn't right.

how is the little guy? (((HUGS))) :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :-*

he is feeling better today :D rumbling at Iris and eating like anything! :smitten: His treatment finishes on Friday, so obv I'll complete it, just hoping he stays 100% ok now

Just windering how the little guy's doing? ? (((HUGGLES))) :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Well I would have a guess and say Woodstock is nearly back to full health! *touch wood!* He is rumbling around, begging for food, wheeking at everyone who walks into the room, and looks bright eyed ;D He is staying inside now until the cold weather is truly over, I don't want to risk putting him back in the garage again. Got a check up at the vets later, so we'll see what she says :) Thanks to everyone for their concern, :smitten: I get panicked when one of my piggies gets ill :smitten:
