My 12month old male guinea pig has a history of getting URI he just got one in Jan but refused to finish his meds. Today I thought I heard a high pitch wheezing when I went to his cage to pick him up he seemed "wobbly", or like he was shacking his head wired. Quite. And not fighting me or anything.

I fed him some fruit and he ate fine. He does seem quieter than normal and does still seem to do the weird bobby wobble shaky thing.

He's also sneezing and has a tiny scab in ear.

What could be wrong? How do I rule out things? I have more baytril should I try to start him on that?

My guess would be an ear infection or fungal and the scab could be from where he's scratching but it's definitely one for the vet.
Hope he's better soon.

You do need to take him to see a vet. Do you know of any exotic vets in your area ( specialises in small mammals, birds etc )

Hi i hope you're able to get your piggie to a vet quickly, it does sound like an infection. Maybe you could call an emergency vets?
GOOD LUCK XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Should I start the baytril? I'll call his vet in the morning.
