Help! I'm scared!

Please help me! I am 8 weeks old and until today I was living quietly with my little brother, minding my own business. Then today a strange woman scooped me up, put me in a box and took me away!

Although I am tiny I do quite like cuddles and this is me sitting on the strange lady's lap.

But since she put me in a new cage, this is what I have been doing and I haven't moved for about half an hour. Maybe if I stay still for long enough, the world will start making sense again.

I don't have a name yet because apparently some strange people called 'children' need to come home from school and choose my new name. I am also going to meet someone called Jack who I think is another guinea pig. I hope he'll be my friend.

I will be back later to let you know what my new name is, and whether I ever move from the corner of this cage.....

Thanks for the link, I've been wondering how best to handle the introductions.

I have Newbie in a 3x2 indoor cage which I have borrowed for him. Jack is currently outside in his hutch but I am going to put him in his indoor cage too, which is 4x2 and used to house him and Charlie in the winter months. As the weather is inclement anyway I will have the two indoor cages side by side for a while, to let the new baby settle a bit.

I think I will attempt the introduction on Friday/Saturday when I have time to watch them for a while. By then the baby should be a bit more used to me at least.

Aw! Sweet little baby!
I wouldn't worry too much, it'll just take him a bit of time to settle. I'd leave him on his own for a bit, then offer him loads of tasty treats and he'll soon associate you with good things and come to trust you.
