My guinea pig Nugget has had a growth overnight on his bottom lip. I just washed him last night (with the same soap I've been using for about a year) and cleaned his cage. He seems normal as if he's not in pain but of course flinches whenever we touch it. I have no idea what this is or if it's fatal? :(( 20181031_142432.webp

I think i know what this is!
Have you been feeding alot of fruit? Like.tomatoes or apple? My old pig had this exact same problem when i was new to guinea pigs i gave him tomotoe everyday.

It cleared up very fast after cutting fruit down to once per week. It was caused by the acidity

I haven't given him anything like that anytime soon. although I did bathe him and give him lettuce while doing it? I also didn't see his water was empty until today could that have caused it?

Try not to bathe him, they dont need it. And top up fresh water everyday, empty the bottle completely of old water and refresh. Dont let it run out. The lip i dont know now, youl need to take him to a specialist guinea pig vet. Is he getting fresh hay everday? Make sure you have timothy hay stocked up always. Good luck with his lip

Hi! Please see a vet for cheilitis (lip infection). It is impossible for us tell from your picture whether it is something stuck to his lip or a scab; it needs a hands-on examination.

In the early stages (which this would be if it was that) cheilitis can be treated pretty easily, but it should not be done on spec. Please stop feeding any fruit and tomato.
