I bought Murry from pets mart about a year ago along with his previous cage mate Cookie, That same day I went back and bought Poncho (I couldn't resist that cute little afro!) I was told that they were all boys but cookie gave me a girly vibe. I tried to explain this to my parents but they told me that there as no way that she was a girl because the store sold "boys only". Murry and cookie were always coupled together and bullied Poncho forcing him to stay in the corner of the cage. One day I put them all in a small cage so that I could clean the large one they all stayed in. Murry and poncho broke out in a huge fight that I managed to break up with minor injuries. After the fight I put cookie in the smaller cage (which was just enough room for 1 guinea pig) and placed poncho and Murry in the large cage with a wire divider so that they hopefully would be able to be placed together again. My plan was to take cookie back to the store to prevent anymore fighting but when we pulled up in the parking lot I felt a little blob wiggle around in her stomach. After realizing she was pregnant there was no way I was going to take her back to the store, I just imagined her having her babies there and fighting off other guinea pigs to protect them. Not long after cookie gave birth, murry managed to wiggle on the other side of the divider when I wasn't home, when I got back I saw plugs of Murrys hair all over the cage and him whimpering in the corner. I was devastated:( I made it a priority to get Murry a cage of his own and I made sure to take care of his skin. Cookie had three babies. Two of them have already been placed in a new home and I am left with one more, his name is Kevin:) All the pigs are healthy now and live in spacious cages. My only concern is murry. He is really sensitive now and doesn't like to be touched, I'm also afraid that he is getting lonely. I put a stuffed turtle in the cage with him. he loves it very much but I know its just not the same. I would try to reunite him and poncho but I'm afraid of what will happen, I know its been a long time since the fight but I cant help but worry. what should I do? sorry for the long story!

Where are you based ? We have members all over the world so if would be useful to know if you are in the US/UK or elsewhere.

Could you please just add "Nevada US" to your details, so we can always tailor any advice to what is available in terms of US brands (especially in a medical emergency), your specific climate, access to vets and rescues etc. Click on your username on the top bar, then go to personal details and scroll down to location. Thank you!

There is a recommended good standard guinea pig savvy rescue in Las Vegas. they would be the safest place for you to find a companion for Murry.
