Tomorrow I take another 6 into the rescue, that is 15 this week and it's the very last ones I can take in.

Problem is they are going to be squashed a bit. I will have 2 boys in a hutch that's a great size, not worried about them.

Them 2 girls in a 3 x 2 which is too small but it's not too bad it's approx 110cm, not as good as i'd like.

Then 2 babies in a 2 x 2 cage which is much too small (but they are babies).

They are all temporary and Saturday Cy is starting clearing out and fitting out the HUGE shed for all the rescues, that will mean that they have loads of space in a week and a half. And right now they are all in much more cramped cages than that.

So it's better right? But not ideal.

I had no idea we would fill up so quickly.

I have 5 going out soon too and loads of leads so expect loads more to go out soon too. But for now it's full full full......

I think its great that you are helping all these piggies in need. I'm sure they won't mind being a bit cramped for a week if it means they're going to go to a loving new home in the end. :(|)

In the long term you will be offering them good facilities as long as the conditions are only temporary and they get enough run time i wouldnt feel so bad

The small cages are very temporary and better than they have now - the piggies will be fine! They will be safe which is the most important thing. I have homed a pair of boys today so can take in another two if more need rescuing this week. Hopefully 2 more pairs will be homed next week as I have families booked for visits already.

Just pass my number on if urgent GPs need to come in.

The space they have is more than adequate for a temporary but safe place to live. Please try not to feel bad as in the long term these piggies are heading for happiness and their own homes.

dont worry Lisa in rescue the cages in a shed cant be over big or you wouldnt have the room to take in i think what they have now is far far better than what they had before x

I have single boars in nero 2 and any pairs in nero 3 if i have 3 in i add an extra level to a nero 3 but 4 guineas in the rescue would need be split but stillhoused next to each other xx

They don't sound TOO cramped, it's just for a little while. :)

Lisa, I'm certain that all of these pigs are in a much better situation with you.

Hopefully it will be very temporary and all will be off to lloving forever homes quickly

Don't worry - the piggies will have better conditions than before (so won't know what they are missing out on!) and will go on to even better places. You are doing all you can and none are suffering or living in unacceptable surroundings.

Sadly, there are simply too many piggies in need of help and new homes!

15 in one week where do they come from and how do they end up with you are you registered with rspca or something? thats a lot of piggies needing a home in one week - very sad :(

One of the families you sent has booked a visit. Fingers crossed it all works. Hopefully the other will come soon too - holiday commitments first I think.

Thanks everyone! Feeling more positive about it all right now. I know they are much better off here even in a temporary small cage. I wish I could speed everything along but Cy was planning everything this morning ready to start tomorrow. I have the wire for the cages sat in my porch and it's all go here getting this all just right.

I like bigger cages but these girls will be okay for a week or two. Plus in a week and a half 5 of them are going to their new homes and it's looking likely for another pair too.

In fact my phone has started ringing alot so it's clear Cardiff needed something like this.

I can only echo everyone elses thoughts. They're in a better place than they were before. So you can't give every group a 2x4 right away. A 2x3 is fine, 2x2 no problem for two babies.

If it helps any, I have Saffron on her own in a 2x2 and she's perfectly contented in there. It's not ideal I know, really she should be in a 2x3, but she either lives completely solitary - she can see no other pigs - in a 2x3 or she lives in a 2x2 but has other pigs neighbouring her. Given her reaction when she was more solitary, I'd rather she have the company and the slightly smaller cage.

to be honest i dont think that sounds too small well not for a short period of time, hun they will appreciate any cage as long as they are fed and kept safe

I agree with everyone else too, what you are providing is so much better than they had before, they must now feel safe and secure and a wonderful future awaits them :)

They will be fine, Lisa. None of those living arrangements sound bad at all, especially not if they are temporary. They are all above the legal requirements in Sweden too.

Just to echo what everyone else has said. You are doing a good thing and as long as the piggies are safe, secure and being fed then you really can't ask for more than that.

oh, and I just remembered my little snake rescue chaos... It was just for about 36 hours but they boys with most space had a banana box to themselves... which is not particularly spacious... and they were fine :)

lisa i would rather have craig and david come and stay with you in a 2x2 than stay with some of the muppets that get pigs and dont look after them they could put them in a 7x10 and i still wouldnt change my mind xx :))

Well they are here. There is a pregnant one - hugely pregnant. I thought there was a potentially pregnant one but not definite. By the looks of her it wont be long - hope she waits longer than the 2 hours that Tessie waited eh?

Hope all goes well with the new intake. You must be so busy.

I agree with all the lovely comments everyone else has made. You're doing a great job. Any piggy would be lucky to pass through your care. x

What is it with the Welsh piggies this year? They are breeding like the proverbials! Most years it's 5 or 6 pregnancies - this year it's 5 or 6 a month. Are they the G Force piggies all grown up and making mischief?

Lisa you picked just the right time to open - thank you 'cos I don't know how I would've coped all on my own again!

Suzy I have no idea what's going on - but I am overrun with babies!

I have to say Tallulahs are so sweet and coronets are just amazing.

This new pregnant mum is really cute too - so fluffy / spikey. I'll try and get a photo.

Pelvis feels open about 1cm to me - I don't think she will be long at all.
