all the vets are closed and my guinea pig isn’t eating and has gone all weak and limp. I think he’s around 5 years old but he’s a rescue so I don’t know for sure. He wasn’t showing any signs this morning. I tried to crush up his pellets and syringe feeding him but he lulled his head back. He is now limp and pulling himself around his cage and looks like he is in pain. Is there anyway to make this easier for him as it looks like it’s too far down the line now.

Hi I'm really sorry to hear this and ideally you need to call your vets. They will have the number for the emergency vet who can treat or help across rainbow bridge, whatever is best for the poor little guy

Hi! I am ever so sorry!

Keep him as comfortable and quiet as you can and keep him warm, but not hot.

It is likely that he has had a stroke or a heart attack; they can happen at any age out of blue. :(

I am so sorry, I would advise contacting an emergency vet. Nature can unfortunately take its time and isn't always kind. A vet can help your piggy on their way. Where are you located I will find the service in your town if I can

Thank you for all your help and support. He passed just a minute ago and I hope he did so peacefully. I hope I have him a good life however short it was and his pain was only temporary. I am only upset we couldn’t reach him quicker. Thank you

It sounded short to be honest, I am sure he passed peacefully.

Of course you gave him a good life and the final moments tonight will never alter that. He had a life full of love with you. I am really sorry for your loss.

Sleep well little piggy RIP

So sorry for your loss.
I’m glad he didn’t linger and passed away peacefully and loved.
Take time to grieve now - be kind to yourself

I am very sorry; there was not much you or your vet could have done for him in any case even of you had been able to rush him to a vet. He was already unable to process any food by the time you found him and his body had already started to close down. Please try to take comfort from that.

You are welcome to post a tribute to your boy in our Rainbow Bridge section if you'd like and whenever it feels right for you. 5 years is a good age!

I'm sorry for your loss! Having had several pets pass at home, I feel for you. It's hard to watch. ((HUGS.))
