I was putting my pigs out on the grass and I noticed blood on my shirt. After checking all the pigs my Pebble's toe nail is half hanging off and won't stop bleeding!
I've taken her indoors and bathed the foot in mildly cold water to try and prevent infection.

It's still hanging off and bleeding right now, what do I do!?

If it doesn't stop bleeding you will need to get her to the vets. Piggy nails can bleed excessively but that is usually if you cut the quick. Does it look like she has caught it on something?

She must have caught it on something as I wasn't cutting her nails and it's not a clean break.
Should I leave the nail hanging or try to pull it off?

Do you have any cornflour? Run her nail under the cold tap briefly then dip it in cornflour. If not, apply firm pressure with a damp facecloth/towel. If it is still bleeding a lot then a vet trip may be necessary.

It has stopped bleeding now but the nail is still hanging off at a funny angle. I don't want her to catch it again so it bleeds all over again.

A vet should have a look at the nail and cut it, if possible or fix it, for example with fibrin glue. All the best for your piggy!

The quick of the nail can bleed a lot of it gets caught on something... one of my pigs tore the nail off and it bled like crazy. I did have to use nail clippers to remove what was left of the nail because it was hanging by a thread. I had to put pressure on her foot for quite some time to get the bleeding to stop. It took a while (at least half an hour or so.) In the past with nail bleeds I have used a styptic pencil or flour to stop bleeding.

i'd go to the vets so they can sort it out and also check she hasn't hurt her toe/foot/leg by catching it.

I checked on her the next day and the nail that was dangling off has completely fell off now and has scabbed over nicely. Thank you all for the advice. :D
