Hi everyone!
I got a boar last week and he is finally starting to settle in a little!
But, he hasnt eaten ANY veggies/fruits! He eats his pellets and hay but he wont touch his veggies at all!
how can i get him to eat some veggies?

If he's new he may have never eaten veggies, introduce the veggies slowly, try cutting them in half to start with. One veg at a time. Twas what I did with my Bert. :)

Hello there. If he has not had vegetables before then he will not understand what they are. In time he will. Have you tried cucumber? That is a great favourite with most piggies. Maybe when you have lap time you can offer him a piece? Do not worry though as hay is the most important part of a guinea pigs diet.

Hi! I've tried introducing some cucumber during lap time but he just sniffs it and ignores it! :(

just keep offering him some and he will hopefully try it when he's ready. it's good he's eating alot of hay. does he have a friend? they always want what the other has, and encourage each other, so this might help :)

If you have pro-c probiotic (won't do any harm), I put a tiny bit of that on it as they love it, and encourages them to them eat the veg but all pigs different!

Hi! Thank you so much for all the feedback! My yoda doesn't have a friend yet! I've had him for about a week now. I think I'm just gonna keep trying everyday until he is ready, like you said! :)

Some rescues do boar dating? That could be an option for you! That way they'll be matched with a piggy needing a home that's compatible with your piggy!

Oh! Oh gosh, I wouldn't be sure then, I guess you could enquire? And just see if there maybe are any other rescues around? If not then and that is no option, you could get a younger male from the rescue and try bonding them yourself, or get see about having your boat neutered to bond with a female (has to wait 6 weeks though after neuter) or as a last resort a younger male from a store (quarantine min. 2 weeks) x
