Junior Guinea Pig
As an adult owner I've not yet had to deal with sick piggies and make decisions. (Although lost a girl couple weeks ago)
My remaining girl looked a bit big so had a feel about and felt a lump. Took her to the vet today. On initial examination he thought it was more serious than he thought. They scanned her and it is a cyst attached to her liver. (I think that's how he explained it). I just don't know what to do now. He said a couple of things either monitor her as she's still eating etc and look out for pain and could give metacam. Drain the cyst and the last resort I'm sure you can guess. I chose to have her scanned to see what were dealing with. the vet said if you drain it whilst its on the smaller side then it will fill up quicker and may continue like that or it could get to a point where its stretched and won't grow anymore. I just don't know what to do. Especially after he said leave it and bring her back in up to 7 days and we can recheck size. I'm thinking its grown quickly as I never felt anything there last week. What are people's thoughts please.
