The bedding seems to be ok but a more comfortable option could be fleece with an absorbent layer like a towel or puppy pads to soak up the pee underneath or a natural paper based bedding like carefresh.
Also, again i would like to ask if you have had a look at Guinea Pig Sounds and Noises | this yet. It will help identify the sound you piggie is making.
Once you have done this please let me know what you think it is :)
 
Whether he wants to go back - DO NOT LET HIM. Keep them separate. My guess is that your female guinea pig is already pregnant. Just thoroughly read the advice people have given you and make sure you understand what they're saying. It is very important.
