I have a trio of piggies, all brothers about 4 1/2 months old. I'm at my wits end with them as they are all fighting. It's got really vicious and one has been bitten twice drawing blood. They simply don't get on and it's very upsetting watching them go for each other. I bought them from a pet shop ( national chain ) who aren't able to help me rehome 2 of them in their adoption area as they are full, the local rspca and animal shelter don't take piggies either. I just don't know what to do Can anyone help me find a new home for them? Individually they're lovely boys, it's just when they get together that things kick off. Money is tight so I just can't afford 2 more hutches and we have no space to put them at home. I'm desparate for a solution.

Sorry to hear this, boar trios are notoriously difficult. Unfortunately pet stores keep selling trio's of boars which is so ill educated of them... and then unsuspecting caring owners get this :( I feel sorry for you as it is awful to see.

For now you need to separate the piggies and keep a two and a one pig system until you can rehome if two of them get with each other then pop the other in a cage with a teddy. You cant keep all three together else damage is really going to be done now blood has been drawn. Where are you based please, town/city? We can recommend a rescue close to you.

From what I can tell off your IP address you are Gloucester based

Your closest rescue that may be able to help is
Blue Cross Burford Rehoming Centre
Shilton Road
Burford, Oxon OX18 4PF
0300 777 1570

Please give them a ring

I am full up & have 10 solo boys now who have fallen out with their former buddies. Must be something in the air. If you're sure you can't get one good pair out of them they will definitely need to be put into 3 separate cages before any serious damage is done. We have a waiting list at present so you would be better trying to find a home for them nearer to you. The piggy train could help with getting them to a rescue if it was too far away for you x

So sorry that you are in this position. As Lee has said, young boar trios are notoriously unstable. It's such a shame that the pet shops don't take this into account when they sell young piggies to owners.

If you were to remove one could you get a stable pairing? That way you would only need to rehome one. Where are you based? We have an approved rescue locator at the top of the page. Your nearest rescue may be able to help with rehoming one of them.
