hi there,
Hope someone can help me. I took my pigs out of there cage to clean them tonight my newest pig Yelp when I picked her up and then shortly later she died. What did I do wrong. I feel like I killed her. She was fine when I went into her and place her on the bed and she even went and laid at side of Stella then a few mins later she went all floppy and was sort of trying to popcorn but not moving. I frightened of touching Stella now I'm heartbroken. Please some one tell me what I did wrong

I'm sorry to read of your loss. I wouldn't imagine picking her up caused her to pass. I know when my girls where new they screamed when I picked them up. It's likely your piggy had an underlying health problem and the movements you seen before she passed was probably spasms which happen when/after an animal dies.

Did you notice any change in behaviour? Keep an eye on your other pig to make sure everything is OK. It's worth considering getting them another friend when you've had time to get over the shock.

You would of had to been very rough to do that much damage. Think hard over the last few days there were likely other signs of illness

Please don't feel bad. It is highly unlikely that you could hurt your pig just by picking her up.
Chances are she was already ill (guinea pigs hide it well) or had some otehe problem that wasn't obvious, and this is what caused her to die. Not you picking her up.
I am very sorry for your loss.

You certainly are not to blame in this, just a tragic coincidence. As mentioned piggies hide illnesses very well as they are prey animals. You are not to blame here. Very sorry for your loss. hugs x

I agree with all the above posts but just wanted to add that m so sorry for your loss.

So sorry for your loss. You never did anything wrong.
