Help. New Pig With Uri Will My Old Piggy Be Ok

I'm in tears. We got gizmo my other piggy a friend and had him overnight it was a huge decision i even went to the store all week long daily just to look at him in the window! We finally decided as a family and brought him home the other night. He did awesome he was letting me pet him and hand feed him a really sweet sweety definitly handled. Anyhow... I went to get supplies this morning at the pet store and to my surprise was also checking on his cage mate there to see if he was ok or sold .... He was breathing hard I ran to the attendant and she ran him into the vet clinic next door to them. She asked me to bring our baby in and if they were paying for it I had to leave him. I called the wildlife center in my area and they advised me the same and told me I didn't want to be responsible for a sick pig they gave me. So I followed their instruction. Took him in straight away. I follow orders because I want him to live I love him. Problem is they aren't too sympathetic to new owners. They made me return him! Oh he's still yours they tell me my name will be on cage but he needs to be back in their inventory to treat him.... I still listen. Long story short. They have given me No update unless I call... and i feel like i am a annoyance to them. I just want MY pet. And i just want updates because i hope he is healthy and alive hello? Now he's in there care so technically he isn't mine but they say he is and I can buy him back I am a mess emotionally today. I also found out the clinic who has him doesn't even treat small animals and probably won't help him.. I already love him over the course of this week and I am a emotional wreck it was a hard decision to bring another baby home and then this! Does anyone have experience with a similar situation I hope I get my baby back! Help. My mom also told me it is airborne and even though I houses the new baby seperate from our beloved gizmo he could already have caught it please tell me he didn't I was quarantining and washing my hands. I'm in awe right now.
 
I’m so sorry this has happened to you, I can tell how much you love your babies and this is such a scary situation. I’ve been through something similar, unfortunately it’s how I learned the hard way that pet shop piggies aren’t well cared for. I adopted 2 older girls from pets at home and they came to me with undiagnosed URIs which spread to my other pig when I brought them home.
However, it sounds like you took all the right precautions to quarantine the baby from your older piggy so I wouldn’t worry too much about the risk of it spreading, just keep a close eye on him for symptoms. You say you feel like an annoyance calling for updates but he is your pig and you have a right to know how he’s doing. I really hope he’s okay and back at home with you soon x
 
Thank you he is now home I am tempted to get the cage mate That was there as well but people tell me 3 males can't get along.

Really glad to hear he’s home, I’ve no advice relating to boar trios but I’d listen to the more experienced members on this as they know what they’re talking about!
 
Thank you I decided against the trio I introduced the boys today and so far just the durrr noises and some chasing and eating together. I hope I made a good match and the hormonal stage doesn't ruin it either! When the baby gets older I hear it could challenge the older one i am hoping they get along for good and bond.
