Had our skinny pig for about 6months she's developed this spot ( looks like a few moles blk in color slightly raised no puss or blk head looking) over the last 2months. It doesn't seem to bother her at all but I would like to give her a bath shes looking a little dry. (Dry skin) and don't want to harm her by wetting her. I know I probably sound like I have no clue about this stuff because I don't. Please be nice lol I just want to care for her the best ways possible. Thank you to anyone with some knowledge. How do I post a picture?

Hello I have a skinny pig Freddy
Skinny pigs shouldn’t be bathed unless advised by a Vet.
I was told ( by the rescue Wood Green where he came from) as it upsets their skin ph
Freddy has had scratches ( from hay mites) and a dry patch in the past - coconut oil is a gentle way of improving any dry skin
I’d take her to the Vet for a check up
As you’ve just joined you might not be able to post a photo yet
Here’s Freddy

Welcome to the forum

I’m not a skinny owner but I am one of the forum’s health advisors.
Skinnies (in fact guineas in general) should not be bathed unless there is a vet diagnosed medical need to do so. Bathing will upset the skin balance and potentially make her even drier. Do seek veterinary advice for any concerns

It takes a little while for your forum registration to complete and then the option to add a picture will become available to you. You will see ‘attach files’ appear below the message box when it has done

I agree with the others, please don't bathe her without having her seen by a vet, especially if it's something that looks like a mole and she's not had it before. Fingers crossed it's nothing but I really recommend having it checked out.
