Hello, I recently rescued a small Guinea, her name is Buttercup, and she surprised us two nights ago with 2 babies! :) I wrote a previous thread about that little shocker, lol.. My question now is what is safe and not safe to feed them. I tried researching on my own but kept coming across conflicting information. One site says good and the other a no. So far Buttercup likes green peppers, carrots, kale, spinach, parsley, cilantro, broccoli, cauliflower. I had given her green beans but then read something about beans being toxic? Can someone point me to a good site to get a list of safe fresh veggies and fruits. Also, how much is enough? Thanks much! Can you tell I am a nervous new Guinea Mommy (and surprised Grandma too! Hahaha)

What? Toxic? I've never heard that before. I feed mine green beans daily and they have had them for all their life and they are all fine.

http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/...veg-and-fruit-list-with-vitamin-c-grading.42/ This might help you. :) I'm sure theres another thread somewhere with a complete vegetable guide but I can't find it right now.

I feed my own piggies coriander, large green leaf, green beans, pepper (red, yellow and green), carrot (rare treat), dill (rare treat), celery and cucumber to give you a guide. =)

I'm pretty sure beans are toxic to them in the sense of uncooked kindney/garbanzo/black eye bean etc green beans arent really the same they're totally different if you're on about these things:

These are the unripe pods from some plant apparently so the "beans" havent grown inside them yet :)
