Humphrey is begining to make himself a nuicance he will escape from his cage where hi is on hi own till he is a little bigger to meet our other 3. and breaking into their indoor hutch obviously piglet and gizmo dont like this intrusion so get all chattery and agressive but its heart breaking watching him pine for rocky and the others. its just hes too small to stand a chance if it goes badly any ideas or do i just face up to the fact they want to be with each other earlier than i had planned

Are these pigs all boars? Do you have 3 living together already & want to add Humphrey?

If the above is correct you'd be extremely lucky to bond 4 boars & keep them living happily together. For me Humphrey's breaking out because he's seeking company but Piglet & Gizmo are on the defensive at seeing this intruder & are telling him so.

If these 2 are bonded why not try Humphrey with Rocky on his own & have 2 pairs?

2 pairs is what we are aiming at I'm just wary that rocky is nearly 3 times his size and if it went badly humphrey wouldnt stand a chance

because hes that much younger its more likely to work because he'll see the older one as a daddy figure. I'm not saying this is always the case though because obviously sometimes personalities clash

As Shauna's said most adult boars will accept a baby as they don't see them as a threat & babies look to them as "dads."
I had a large, attitude filled boar & introduced a 3wk old baby boar to him they took to one aother immediately.

I would introduce sooner than later, you know the signs to look for & can separate if needed. :)

humphrey has now been re housed with rocky but i may have to invest in better door locks for the hutch as the escaping (and biting when you catch him) continue this one is gonna be hard work

I hope that things are panning out for the two!

they are virtually identical in personality but cant be spilt without crying this one is gonna be interesting all four play happily
