ive not been on for a while my piggie has got a cut behind his ear what do i do HELPPPPP I'm new to all this

Is it deep and bleeding heavily or shallow and only bleeding shallowly?

If it's deep, try to stem the blood and take her to a vet as an emergency. If it's not so bad, sprinkle on cornflower to stem the blood.

its not deep or bleeding its just bright red ive got two piggies should i split them up while he heals?

Nothing to worry about then - wounds heal very quickly.

I wouldn't separate, but keep an eye in case of more serious fights. A scratch like that can be an accident during a scuffle.

I also have used specially designed ointment to reduce infection. It's tea tree based. Ask in your local pet shop. Should only cost you around £2-£3.

You are wasting time, money and effort by putting anything on a cut to stop the bleeding. Both the bleeding time and clotting time are relatively short.

Can you put Tea Tree oil on a piggie? I would have never considered it because of the very strong odor, I can hardly stand it, and it's very close to a eucylyptus smell, which I hear is really bad for the piggies.

When mine got bit I just put pressure and cleaned it off with an antiseptic, he was fine, there is a sticky with the stuff you can use in your 1st aid kit somewhere...I am sure someone will post a link.

Good Luck!
