So I was going to fill up the food bowl but I noticed a weird brown liquid in the bowl with chunks in it, I'm quite sure it couldn't have been pee or anything because they have never peed in the bowl and it was perfectly in the bowl, i haven't given them any brown liquidy foods either?
help asap please i dont know if its normal none of my guinea pigs ever done this. my mom is mad at me for overreacting but i get really worried about my pets health so id appreciate knowing what this could be

Do you think it could be urine that's been there a while ? Guinea pig urine oxidises when exposed to air and can go a dark orangy brown colour .
If you want to make sure their urine is OK when fresh , it would be worth getting them in a bowl or carrier and waiting for them to wee.

I didnt see it there an hour ago and i always make sure to clean their bowls every day, plus it was all in the bowl and unless somehow he managedto get it in the bowl, ill still try checking their urine later as they're currently sleeping.

It is most likely pee or water in which poos have slowly dissolved and discoloured it.

Please wash your bowl thoroughly and switch to only leaving it in the cage while your guinea pigs are eating. Serve veg and pellets only in portions that can be eaten in one go so it cannot be mistaken for a toilet by the piggies.

I usually do take the bowls out when they aren't eating but I forgot as my other pet wasn't doing good.

No problem; it happens here regularly with the drip dishes under my bottles. Some piggies have to plant a poo or two in it within 5 minutes of me cleaning them and then drink very messily on top of them. :mal:

Looking back at this even just a few hours later I do overreact a lot, he hasn't done this again I'm pretty sure he's fine!
