Help please have i done the right thing

Wow people can be so cruel! Its bizarre to me that people will dump these pets in places where they couldn't survive by themselves when a vet or a rescue would take them instead of seeing them on the streets
Very sad indeed. Wish I had the space for loads of rescues but I'm unfortunately limited to my front room and I have 2x children so need to be careful how many I take on managing everyone's needs & paying vet bills etc.

You are doing great, giving this poor little lady a safe and committed home. Even if your piggies won't bond, they have company and stimulation. ;)

Thanks, my boy from yesterday has a bite wound on his snout. Its not bleeding, looks more of a scratch and hes hiding away & feeling sorry for himself. Do you know how long i can expect for him to return to his usual self? I will also look out for signs of infection

Hi

Give him a few days.

Bites to the face, especially the mouth/cheek area, are generally the result of an instinctive split second defence bite from a cornered piggy of either gender on edge, whose only way out it is forward past the bully/enemy. It is very likely that he got that by blocking his mate's exit at some point and his mate instinctively reacted to a sudden movement of his.

Especially with new/teenage boars, it is advisable to have two exits on everything from huts to hay areas and to avoid any dead corners in the set up.

He is likely more shaken by the fight and fall-out than the pain from the face. The quick healing process will set in soon. For any swelling in the coming days please see a vet.
