Poor Doyle is not well. His got a lump on his private parts and it looks sooooo sore. His booked into the vets at 3.40 but i wanted to see if anyone knew what it was. I check him over all the time so it happened quite quick.
He is drinking and eating fine and is playing about next to me now.

heres a pic of it

Aww poor thing that does looks sore. I'm not sure really could he have poked himself on hay? I'm sure its something minor will keep fingers crossed here! x

eew, poor thing, looks well uncomfortable!

Hope you get encourgaing words at the vets'x>>

Ouch poor little chap. Is it my imagination or does there appear to be a "head" right in the centre of the spot? Good luck at the vets, I hope Doyle soon feels a little more comfortable.

You can acutally see on it theres white stuff at the top. It looks like a bad spot. It seems to be full off puss or something. I'm really scared as my hamster Bexley had a growth like this and i thought it was an absess but it was cancer :( I'm hoping it wont be that though.
thanks everyone

Maybe he has poked it with hay and it has got infected. I'd probably pop him to the vets for a once over :)

His been to the vets now and it was cyst! shes got the puss out and flushed it through and his had an injection, he was so scared. His got one more injection Thursday and then his done. I also asked about the grease gland as his weeps alot but shes said its fine. phew!

O yeah and some silly cow at the vets refused to stand next to my OH. She gave Doyle a evil look and said "ewww I'm going to wait over there away from that rat" who the f*** does she think she is. I'm seiving.

I'm glad he's sorted now!
If this is one of the little men that live near your girls, that's why his grease gland is so overproductive ;)

Good to hear he is sorted. It does look a very sore place to get a cyst!

glad he's on the mend! send him love from me and mine. about that stupid bint, she should come round here and say that about a guinea pig! i tell you mallethead that would me wacking her head with a mallet!

aw Chez just seen this. More little mite, glad it is all sorted now.

For the stuck up self righteous bint, i wouldnt worry yourself, shes obviously clueless.

sending hugs and kisses from Auntie them x

Oh poor Doyle ... that does look sore! Hopefully now it will heal nicely.

As for the person in the vet that said that ... well, I might have been inclined to say that the "rat" doesn't want to stand next to you either. What a plonker! mallethead

i was so angry when my OH told me. I didnt go the vets with him as they had me tears last time when there was no need. I'm currently looking for a new vet. Its good i didnt go as i would probably of shouted my mouth off at her.
I'm so glad Doyle is ok, really scared me. My mom should be coming round tomorrow and were going to give them all a check over and cut there nails etc. gave me a big scare when i seen it. poor lil man. Showed me just how much i love him lol

Chez, this is great news!

About that imbecileat the vets, it was more a case that the piggy didn't want to stand next to a rat! {:|:(|):)) People just don't know... But they can come round. My mother in-law used to say the same thing but we've had to take the boys with us to stay with my in-laws when we're away for more than one night and now, she loves them and even offers to keep them when we go on holiday... ;)
BTW, if we're only away for one night, my neighbour Brenda comes round to feed them with her grand-daughter. The boys get over fed for 24 hrs and totally unphased when we get back!
