Help please..

I have two guinea pigs the one called Poppy is very sweet and calm. She'll happily sit there and be stroked. The other called Pansy can't sit still.. hates being picked up and always stuggles out of my hands, it is quite hard to hold her.. Yesterday I was taking her back to her hutch and she jumped out of my hands. She was ok because I caught her but next time she might not be so lucky.. I have tried everything to try and resolve this like holding food to keep her occupied, hold her close to my chest, handle her daily so she is used to me.. I just don't know what else to do.. Any comments would really help.

try getting a piggy cosy and cuddle her in that or a cuddle cup ask audioheart about aquiring one :)
 
Try wrapping Pansy up in a towel, cosy or cuddle pocket to make her feel more secure, then she'll be less stressed and wriggly in cuddles. When you put her back in the hutch put her in with her bottom facing the hutch and her face towards you - sometimes they will jump for it because they can see the hutch and have no real concept of depth and distance.

I have same problem with my 2 one is docile the other well shes a nightmare...going to get a straight jacket :))
 
I put Cocoa in a cup or a towel..but when the veg is gone and cocoa wants out...she;s out :a19:
 
Each pig is different so don't worry about it. 2/3 of my pigs resent being picked up, and sometimes even chatter their teeth in a scared sense! But don't be worried, if you keep picking them up, they very slowly get used to the idea. rolleyes

It's also a good idea to give each pig a treat after being picked up, something they have never had before, so they know they get this rare and delicious food only once they have been picked up, and been good! :)p

Some piggies just dont take to being handled and that may be the case with your piggie. One of my piggies Matilda is 6 and she still runs for her life when I try to catch her and almost screams. I only handle her now for nail cutting, other than that, I dont stress her any more. Piggies are all so different and Ive found the my girls have always been much shyer than my boys.
 
My girls are just over 2yrs old and they still run away......but they will now accept me herding them into their box hidey and then i carefully pickup one at a time, hands under butt and front and then pop them into a large cardboard box.......this is how i carry them up to have playtime or bath time (still not a fav thing :)))
Cosies and towels are great too !
I just find it easier to carry them in the box, at night time i also carry them back down with their bowl of food (the bottom of the box has had electrical tape put across both ways so it can't come unstuck!)
 
it just takes time i'm afraid, my oldest pig bob still wriggles sometimes if he's feeling that way outrolleyes! you should get a cosy though, http://www.cosycavies.co.uk/products/snuggle-sacs/ he can hide and feel safe while you interact with him, keep trying treats, i foster guinea pigs for a small rescue camp nibble http://www.campnibble.com/, and some of the pigs are really really terrified of people and noises and EVERYTHING! i find green beans the best tool of bribery :p
 
flash will try to jump when he sees the hutch so I hold him underneath with one hand and with my other hand I hold him on the top and a finger either side of his neck on his shoulders to prevent him from jumping before he is safely in the hutch, its hard to explain my holding position but he is getting used to me holding him this way and wont try to jump unless I take my top hand off him. The only down side is I get a few scratches on my arm when he gets excited by the sight of the hutch rolleyes
