As some of you may know sadly Snowball had to be put to sleep.8...

Cookie will miss him very much. I just want to ask... i'm cleaning the hutch out soon, is that the correct thing to do? Or should i not clean it so Snowball's scent is left in there for a while? As a comfort for Cookie?

I'm not really sure if theres a right or wrong answer to this, I personally have cleaned out my cages quite son after losing one, like the same day or next day.

I'm really sorry you lost snowball :( can I ask did you bring him home from the vet? If you have, then I would advise showing snowballs body to cookie, sounds odd but my vet told me to do this as cookie can then accept that nature has taken its course on snowball and he hasn't just disappeared so to speak. I've since read online that this is reccomended too. If you haven't dont worry, just a tip. Hope your ok big hugs xx

Yes we brought him home. My dad has placed him in the hutch so Cookie can accept that he has gone. :(

Sorry about Snowball Amy, he was a lovely piggie and one of my favourites on the forum. It was a good idea to show Cookie snowball, so he would have known Snowball had gone. I would just clean the cage out on the normal day you would clean it. Hope you are ok x

So sorry to here about Snowball :( worst thing about having pets 8.... You did everything for him and he had a brilliant life whilst he was with you. I agree with sport_billy I'd just clean the cage on the normal day but possibly leave something uncleaned so he still has the smell. When Bailey died the vet said a teddy would be a good idea for company so you could possibly give him a teddy (stuffing removed if he's a chewer).

Yes a teddy might be a nice idea so he has something to snuggle, if you get one designed for babies they're often the safest, no bits to drop off etc.
