Hi people

Just bathed david tonight and i was drying him i noticed he has a dark brown birth mark like patch on his back about the same size as a 2 pence coin. All the rest of his skin is really light. i also noticed a bit of dandruff around the area. i have put some fungal cream on incase its fungal but i dont think it is.

I have never noticed it before but david has dark brown hair and its quite long.

i am slightly worried as to what it could be and was wondering could it be a birth mark or something more serious? x

I would think it's most likely to be a variation in the skin pigmentation, another possible cause is that it is hair regrowth - when black/black tipped hair grows through it can look like smutty dirt or darkened skin when it is emerging through the skin. Similar to 1 day stubble (except it's a lot softer).

Keep an eye on it and if you feel that it is something sinister please get it checked out, even if its just to ease your mind.

thanks for your suzy. To be honest it looks like what a mole would on a human. Davids got very light skin and then he has this dark brown mole thing about the size of a two pence piece.

Think I'm guna av go vets in the morning am worried x
