I was holding my piggy this morning and all of a sudden I heard quiet popping coming from him, but not from his mouth. My other hand was on his bum,and then I kind of felt the pop. I think it was gas, but wondered if I should be worried about it since I've heard him do it before. Could it have to do with his bladder stones, or am I just blowing this all out of proportion?

Bladder stone symptoms include trouble peeing, squeaking when peeing and blood in urine. Ive never heard of popping associated with it, I'm guessing gas in my opinion. Is your piggy otherwise well?

I have not heard about gassiness in conjuction with bladder problems; it may rather have to do with his diet. Massage his guts gently to help the gas escape.

Please keep him mainly on timothy hay (which should make up to 80% of the daily food intake). Timothy hay is the hay lowest in calcium in view of your bladder problems. Reduce his fresh veg (1 cupful of mixed veg per piggy per day) for a day or two and then start up slowly again. That will hopefully help to stabilise his tummy again.

Sometimes piggies can develop a gas problem with a certain veg, especially brassicas (cabbages, but not exclusively). In that case it is recommended to try each veg you feed singly to see who is the culprit that needs to be excluded from the diet.

Wiebke has given you some great advice, i hope you can work out what's causing him to erm do what i call bottom pops :red
