hey! So um we recently bought a skinny pig he started okay, but this week we have seen crunchy stuff on his ears it stays and then it falls off we fear it’s an infection... he has been acting normal and no titlted head it’s very strange! If anyone knows anything we can do please tell me!

Welcome to our friendly forum. You have come to the correct place for all things piggie! Where are you located? Please add it to your profile as we have members from all over the world and the advice can be tailored to your country if we know which country you are in.

I would take him to the vet. If you are in the UK here is the Recommended Guinea Pig Vets for you. If not then Guinea Lynx has a list of recommended vets for some countries.

Welcome to the forum.

Not sure where in the world you are but i would take your piggy to an exotics vet if you can. This could be a fungal infection, skinny pigs are particularly prone to them but only a vet can give you a definite diagnosis and the right treatment.

Does your piggy have a friend? Guinea pigs are herd animals and are always happier with a companion of their own kind.

Welcome to the forum.
Can't add to what you've been advised.
Hope you can get the ear issue sorted.

I always go straight to the vet with any concern on the basis that I'd rather be over cautious than miss anything.
It's a good plan to have a vet fund as the costs can mount up and always come unexpectedly

Hi! I agree that this needs a hands-on vet examination.
Here is the Guinea Lynx recommended exotics vets link if you are not in the UK : Guinea Lynx :: GL's Vet List

It would help us greatly to be able to support you better if you please added your country, state/province or UK county to your account details. Our default is UK advice based. Thank you!

He’ll and welcome to the forum. I have no experience of this, but would go to the vets and get it checked out x

Thank you all I will go to the vet to hopefully get it checked. I currently live in the US and he has no friends but me and my family play with him as much time as we can! Thank you all we will get him checked we will tell you his condition when we have taken him to the vet.
