Hello, I have 4 piggies which are in 2 pairs. Each piggy has a hay tray which are lined with a puppy pad and changed daily. I'm struggling with the smell of it and the pee going through the puppy pad. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to reduce the smell and reduce the wetness of the puppy pads.

Thank you :)

I would try a different bedding. Personally I like aubiose but you could try a layer of wood shavings on top of the puppy pad

I would use some sort of bedding on top of the puppy pads. I also use Aubiose. I find it really good.

I use newspaper and a pine based litter with hay on top. I can't say it's ever smelt! The pine litter absorbs the wee and odours :)

It's only in the hay trays, I'm going to be using fleece for the rest of it. Is aubiose suitable to use in hay trays with hay on top? And how long does the 20kg bag last?

Yes I used mine in small hay trays for 5 pigs and the bale lasted me a couple of months.

I use aubiose throughout a 2 storey 6 foot hutch. I buy 3 x 20kg bags at a time and they last me 6-7 months. So for just the hay trays I think you would find one bag would last quite a while
