Help Smokey is wheezing whilst breathing

Guys smokey seems to be 'wheezy' whilst he is breathing and benn tearing up and down the sofa like a pig possessed really worried that he might not be comfy and can't settle rather than just full of beans but he is on a fair bit of pain meds. maybe the is a little addicted to the Zylodol as it is morphine based? he's still on the heart tablets, .3ml of metacalm and .1ml solution of the zyladol (1/4 tablet mixed in 5 ml water) which is tramadol. he seems ok in himself the piggie vet is not back til Saturday? what shall i do. he is eating fine and pooping any suggestions? doesn't seem to have crackling like my other boy when he had a chest infection? please help

I'm not sure what to suggest. I hope he gets better, I'm sure he will be with your love and attention :-) just keep him comfy. The fact that he's eating fine and running about despite being wheezy is probably a good sign. You're probably over-worrying, which is understandable.

The wheeziness could be related to his heart problems or to dust/allergy as well as to URI.

Please monitor his weight daily. If he has URI, he will lose some weight fairly quickly. If he does or if the symptoms get worse/persist, he needs to be seen by a vet as soon as you can.

Normally, I would suggest that you give him a bit of children's sudafed up to 0.2 ml twice daily and see whether that does the trick, but as he is already on meds, I would be careful. You can still dab his nose with a little bit of vicks or olbas oil.

Thanks he is a little better today have just got to the bottom of the hay bag so maybe it was a little dusty at the end. going to the vet tommorrow hopefully he will come off the zydol morfine stuff he has actually put on weight finally thank god he's been CC free for a day and he ate all the big burgess nuggets today where as he has only been picking at the blackcurrant and oregano diddy ones before so happy for now. thanks will let you know i hope it isn't URI he's on enough meds bless him :( on a plus note if it is at least i have some Baytril left from bandit so may save me a few pennies :red
 
well quick update saw the vet his breathinjg is fine and he is now having the tramadol every other day, metacalm down to 0.2 ml and willl call vet on tues to update and hopefully off the tramadol stuff totally :) thanks guys for all your support
