I know I shouldn't, but just been to P@H, and they have two of the most adorable sheltie boys in their adoption centre. I managed to walk out, and it's just over half an hour till closing, so if I can stick it out, I should be able to convince myself that I need to wait till after my holiday. I even tried phoning my son (yes, he of the far too many pellets last time) to see if he can take them while I'm away, as 5 would be too much for my neighbour to see to. Fortunately he didn't answer, so decision made for the time being.

If they are still there when you get back you are meant to have them!
Yeah - that won't happen, I don't go away until the late November, and back 1st December, so they'll be long gone by then. They are soo gorgeous though, and the girl said they were really friendly too (I didn't ask to hold them - that would have been it, lol)

I'd love more Piggies but 5 is enough for me! I could handle a hamster or 2 but OH not keen on hammies since our last anti social hamster Archie bit him! Put my OH off hamsters for life!

I'm no help... I'm collecting 2 more next week :D

I say if you can afford them, plus any vet bills and can house them properly.... why not? ;)

Don't forget to share pictures when you have them both.. ;)

Ok, well it all just kicked off here and now i don't know what to do :(

Going to post a thread in the behaviour section :(

I did it. Working tomorrow so I knew I wouldn't make it back. Used some of the grids I had and made them a makeshift 4x2 for their quarantine period. They'll go up to the piggy room in a bigger cage after that.
They're currently called Bobby and Bailey - Bobby is the bouffant one and Bailey is the slicked back one. How could I Not have gone back for them? They're quite matted underneath but I'll let them settle in a bit before I tackle that. I did give them a quick nail trim and they were really good, but I figured that was because they were scared. I'm in . Need to go and give the three amides some loving before they get jealous. DSC_0320.webp DSC_0319.webp

They are lovely. They will probably be delighted to have a loving home. Enjoy!

I admit I almost spit out my water when I saw Bobby’s bouffant. Wow that’s some hair he has there. What was the name of John Travoltas character in Greece? As that’s who the huge quiff instantly made me think of but not seen that movie since high school!

Both very handsome little guys.

Danny! Great idea. I don't know about keeping the names yet. I'll wait and see how they suit them. Remember Harpo - AKA Little Dude lol

Well, well, well! What a weak piggy person!
How could you inflict yourself with even more piggies? LOL!
Lol, I know. I was always going to get another two, and I wanted long haired ones this time round, so when I saw these two I just couldn't not. So much for going to a rescue. I have no will power.

It’s funny how we always say Well, I WAS going to get another two!
Not too many rescue places Here in Scotland though so , of course you had to take these lovely boys!x

Gorgeous!

You're stronger than me! I only managed to walk away from Daisy and Delilah for about half an hour, the time it took for me to nip across town to buy my hay, mull it over and realise I was kidding myself if I thought I was leaving them, so might as well get them sooner rather than later!:lol!:

Your new boys are beautiful! I have a big soft spot for the long haired varieties.

Thank you @Eriathwen . I wasn't quite as prepared as I thought. Got home and discovered that all the water bottles are in with the other three! I've had to give them a bowl until I can get a couple tomorrow.

What a stunning pair! Congrats on your new piggies. I had a feeling after reading your first post that they would be yours lol.

Well, I got most of the matting cut out this evening. Bobby really doesn't like his bum being touched, and kept squeaking and kicking me, so there's a little bit left there until I have someone to help. He settled down on my lap though which was lovely, as my original trio are really not into lap time. I've used the grids from their floor-time retreat in the temp cage for the new guys, so they've got a bit of the outdoor run, set up in the living room instead. The two groups have very distinctive and different personalities as well as looks. Groucho, Chicco and Little Dude are zooming and popcorning round the living room just now, whereas Bobby and Bailey are much more chilled and seem quite happy to be lap piggies. I have only handled them for nails and hair-trimming so far though. Can't wait to see what they do at floor time, and to get them up into a bigger cage. I'm used to seeing G,C and LD with loads of space, so I feel bad for B&B in their temp cage.
The trio found a bit of hair that must have fallen when I was trimming the new guys, and they were very interested and wheeking like mad.

I loved reading through this thread. I was thinking “ooo I hope she gets them”, “I hope she says whether she got them”, a few posts down “well, I got them” :xd:

I certainly couldn’t! I’m in a similar boat myself. Currently in the ‘kidding myself phase’. Haha!

Lol, my 'kidding myself phase' lasted precisely 30 minutes. As I was driving back to the shop, I was saying to myself ' well if it's closed, I wasn't meant to get them'. I arrived with 4 minutes to spare. lol
