Gladys has suddenly started acting funny. Her side has dropped like she has had a stroke. Her eyes are twitching .. just looking for emergency vets .. I don't know what to do
Head tilted
 
At vets. Heart sounds ok . Head tilt and can't walk properly
 
My thoughts are with you both!. Maybe its an ear infection? Not sure. I know an ear infection would make you dizzy and not balance right

Gosh.. vet i saw has given her baytril incase it's an ear infection..
.4 dose twice a day. Her eyes have calmed down .. I havnt as it was all so quick and a shock. Never anything wrong them Bam.. guess I won't sleep tonight.. am I best to check on her through the night? Any help is gladly received right now...x

Please check throughout the night. If the cause of a problem is not obvious, then a vet will cover all the basics. In your case, there is a small chance that it could be caused by an ear infection or e.cuniculi if you also have rabbits.

Otherwise keep her as calm, warm but not not and as comfy as possible together with her mates in her familiar surroundings in case you are dealing with a stroke or another neurological problem. Rather reheat the snugglesafe to half strength every 6 hours than to full strength every 12. Keep an eye on the food intake.
I would not yet force any food in over the night in order to help her settling down again and stabilising her, but check from tomorrow morning and if necessary step in with syringe feeding and watering as necessary.

Some problems happen right out the blue and with truly frightening speed and force. They are hardest to deal with as you cannot brace for them and they will always catch you from a blind angle. :(
You have done exactly what you should have; there is nothing more you or your vet can do right now.

Is she eating atall? I would check through the night if shes not, but if she is, i would get some sleep, the stress and lack of sleep can mess you up aswell. You might have to give some probiotic though
 
Thanks everyone... I must admit I went into full on panic mode when it happened.. out of the blue... she did eat her tea/veg and as @Wiebke has suggested i have put her back into the cage with pippin and she is a bit wobbly but the head tilt seems to have gone... so i am bemused ... she is currently in the hay tray! I will sleep on the sofa tonight so I am near them both... have an appointment for Friday at the vet for a check up so will see how she goes.. we go away Tuesday so worried about her medicine whilst I am away.. my folks stay here and look after them for us.. thank you to everyone - this is why i love this forum and the people on it x

Gladys just now... what's all the fuss about! Very alert and I would say acting normal ! Eating her veg and hay... oh but what a struggle giving her the antibiotics! Mouth was clamped firmly shut! ANY TIPS FOR GIVING DRUGS?
Also looked in her ears with a magnifying glass... one ear looked a bit wet but never looked in them really so don't know if that's normal...
 
A tip for giving meds; go in from the side of the mouth, behind the front incisors as there's a gap between the incisors and the molars. Aim straight into the side of the mouth, not down the throat! And go slowly :) if she's wriggly, wrap her up in a blanket or a towel! Best of luck and glad to hear she's feeling a bit better!
 
This is taken from the syringe feeding guide. It applies to giving drugs too.

If you struggle to get the syringe into the mouth, gently place your hand over the top of the pig’s face so that your fingers are either side of the mouth, this makes the pig open their mouth enough to get the syringe in. Insert the syringe into the mouth from the side so that the tip of the syringe goes behind the front teeth.

Thanks - the nurse at the vets set go in from the side... it all sounded so easy until it tried it lol but will defo wrap her up as she loves to snuggle when you hold her!
