I am so scared! One of my guinea pigs named Tiger has a white layer on his back. For example, It looks like wax or PVA glue or coconut. The white stuff on his back is solid. My other guinea pigs are trying to sniff it and possibly trying to nibble on it. HELP! I AM SO SCARED.
This year, I have already lost two guinea pigs that were eaten by a fox, and another two guinea pigs due to something else. HELP! I CANT LOSE THIS LITTLE PIGGIE! I have included a picture underneath.4BC5F0CE-8E8B-420F-9525-A2348E16EAC2.webp

I agree skypipdot though I have only ever had 3 males, all neutered and fairly chilled out boars so never seen it as far as I know but the description sounds about right.

Looks like boar glue... Puggle has been in season this weekend and has similar on her back, mad Piggle gets it on her nose a lot... not usually that much though?
Although Theo hasnt too many manly urges and he has to share them out... mostly the boar glue is on the fleece...

I suppose we should clarify what boar glue, just in case.

In basic terms one of your boys got a bit “overly affectionate” with Tiger and left a little deposit. It will work it’s own way loose in time, might be some members with some good tips for dissolving it. Would not try cutting it as guinea pigs can move rather suddenly.
If his cage mates want to nibble it free then let them help out .....maybe one of them is trying to hide his embarrassment by cleaning off the mess:tu:

Thank you for you reply .

Yes they are males☹️I don’t know what boar glue is.
Boar glue is guinea pig semen. Like its name suggests, it dries very quickly and is hard to get out of fur. Not fun when pigs get it all over each other.

Copied off google. I think i may know your next question 🤣. How do you get it off? I dont know haha.

But we are not 100% sure that the one with the white stuff is a male as he is bigger than the other so we thought that it was a pregnant female. We are not 100% sure.
Size doesnt really mean much. Can you take a clear photo of each pigs private regions? Members on here can have a look and maybe confirm

You can always post a picture of the privates of your piggie here. Just make sure it is a clear picture in good light. Another way is to tell is to GENTLY feel above the privates and see if you can feel a penis ridge.

Boar glue is dried semen which goes hard like super glue or pva and is very difficult to remove unfortunately. It will do him no harm though. Keep an eye on it in case it's something else but there seems to be agreement here that your boys have just been overexcited!

Ohh . One of my Guinea pigs try’s to get on top of Tiger to mate but Tiger doesn’t like it and attacks them.

Have you found the sexing guides? If not, its here: Sexing Guide

You can also have a go at taking photos and see what people think here - although if you think you might have a pregnant female it would be well to handle her carefully and probably not turn her upside down! How long have you had them and how long have they all been together? How many do you have?

I have three of them and I got them about a week and a half ago. We were told that they were all brothers. But then we noticed Tiger didn’t get on well with the other two and always wanted to be on its own, and was way bigger than the other two! We were told that they are around 12 weeks old when we got them.

Piggies like humans come up in all shapes and sizes. However, it is unusual for 3 boars to get along especially when they hit the teenage hormonal months.

Please double check the sexes of the piggies that you have and consider a back up plan in case you need to separate any of them

Hi! Which gender are your piggies?

If there is a boar in your group, then it could be boar glue. Have you checked their living space for anything else that could have rubbed off? Boar Care: Bits, Bums & Baths

If in doubt see your vet, but please take a deep breath. whatever it is, it is definitely not life threatening and more in the region of nuisance. ;)

We were told they were all boys but we think Tiger is a girl
