help with fleece

Hi i have changed from sawdust to fleece my piggies seem happier on this but i cant get my fleece to absorb the pee it just sits on top i have towels under the fleece and have taken them out to clean i have also washed the fleece blankets 5 times was wondering if anyone knows what else i can do to make it absorb the water

Wash your fleece without softener 2-3 times before using it and never use softener when washing fleece - that is what seals the surface.

Also make sure that you never overfill the machine, or your fleece will come out smelling worse than going in. If needed, you can wash your fleece at high temperatures. Shake it well before washing, to get rid of hair and hay. If necessary, wash the fleece in a duvet cover to prevent hair and hay getting everywhere. If your machine has a filter, make sure that you empty it regularly.
