So I recently adopted a second guinea pig, Winnie, to be a buddy for my other gp, Roo. I've been following all the guides on bonding here, and have been able to bond them successful. Without doubt, they get along. There's no stress, no fighting. No bullying. Absolutely no signs of anything negative going on. However, most their interactions haven't been particularly positive either...more so mutual. They both just sit in their own separate hidey house, and then casually interact, when they happen to eat at the same time. I would like to see them excited to be in one another's company's. Choosing to spend time together, just for the fun of it. Is there anyway to encourage my piggies to bond beyond "pleased acceptance", where they are best buds, rather than friendly acquaintances. Thanks!

My two are exactly like this but boar and sow pairing, theres no way I can change how they are with each other. Time may change things, I'm not sure with other people's guine apig, but it hasn't with mine 👍 I think alot of people's pigs are like this, I find other pets to be much closer, my two male rats are kind of close, all of my gerbils have been side by side all the time, apart from 2 that had a fight and had to be split in the end, but they were very close at first

This just is the way with some piggies. There isn’t anything that you can doThey aren’t all cuddly with each other (and humans). They arent fighting so that is a good thing and they will be happy to be in each other’s company.
My two don’t ever sit in the same hidey, they’d rather sit in own space but are more than happy to live together - they’ll share food and popcorn about together though.
