I started putting less pellet in the bowl and smudge is eating all of it, along with most of her hay ( i re-fill the hay several times a day)
If I put any fruit or veggies in the food bowl she eats around them ( leaving the pellet under and right around the piece of veggie or fruit).
Do you think if I chop up the veggies super small and mix it in the pellet she will eat it?
I have tried a separate dish , but it looks like she hasn’t touched it.
Thanks

What veggies are you trying feeding? We feed veggies at set times each day and leave pellets in during day as well as unlimited hay.

I think it's hit & miss what they'll eat. Lettuce (gem) normally goes down well, shredded spring greens. Celery, tomatoes, fruit & carrots. It's good to give them veg for vit C but 2 much makes them fat.
Same as what Lee does really.

I have tried different types of lettuce ( we have a rabbit and bearded dragon at home who both get salad daily), strawberry and cucumber also gaveher a tiny piece of kumquat. She nibbles a bit of lettuce while being held, but will not touch it in the dish. I’ll keep trying - they say you need to try a food 7 times before you can decide if you like it or not - maybe she is the same way - lol

Coriander, Parsely, bell peppers (de-seeded) Celery are normally a hit. Pop the food on the floor in the cage not in a dish

Try carrots, small chopped. Maybe try giving her just the veg to see if she has a problem with that and maybe that will help. If she eats, give her a treat and she will figure out that veg is associated with treats
