Senior Guinea Pig
Amy one of my pigs had a very bald tummy that started a few months ago. I took her to the vets who said she is fine just "over grooming"
Now i have been on holiday for two weeks and come back to a pig with a lovely furry tummy? I am confused and think it must be something that I am doing in the house which is upsetting her and causing her to overgroom. I don't want her to go bald again so I need to know what has caused it. I clean them out frequently so it is not that she feels dirty.
here's a list of differences that have been in house while i have been away and my cousin has been pig sitting:
1. no TV in living room at all (that is where she lives)
2. no washing machine going (i constantly have it going when i'm at home which at min cos i'm off work is about 4/5 washes a day and it is very loud)
3. very quiet house as my cousin only came twice a day to sort them out and the house was empty in between
4. no artifical light as noone was in when it was dark
5. very little handling as my cousin struggled to pick them up so they only got picked up a couple of times a week for cleaning
6. no hoovering (came back to hay and poo all over the floor lol)
I'm hoping that she is just feeling happier and it will continue but i am worried that whatever was upsetting her will come back now i am home and wondered if anyone else has experienced this and if there is anything i can do differently now i'm home?
