Hey. I adopted a Guinea Pig named Frank from pets at home about a month ago. They checked him over and said he didn't have any problems. So I introduced him to my male Jeff and apart from my Jeff being dominant and doing the usual dominat things guinea pigs do they get on fine. Thing is Frank doesn't move just sits in the corner of their cage and run but does not move. He eats fine. When Jeff does his dominate things Frank just doesn't move and takes what ever Jeff does to him. Any ideas ?

There is always a more dominant guinea pig in any pairing, but this does seem a bit extreme. Is Frank putting on weight? It may be that he is not moving because there another issue, perhaps problems with his legs or pain from some other cause. Or it could be that he is very nervous still and will take some time to settle. Do you handle them much? It would be worth taking Frank to a cavy-savvy vet to check things out (Pets at Home have been known to sell ill guinea pigs in the past, so I wouldn't necessarily take their word for it).

Ditto to Elwick. A month isn't very long for a pig to feel settled and safer so he might just still be scared. But, it's definitely worth taking him for a wellness check to a piggy savvy vet. I do that with all my new additions no matter where they came from. You just never know if they have an underlying or invisible problem.
