baby piggie

I have had my piggie for about a month now, he still seems a little bit scared which makes me feel a bit sad :( I don't want him to be scared of me.
Has any one got any tips on bonding with him? :)
Please feel free to move if in wrong subject :)

Try and be part of the furniture - be there doing everyday things and talking to him but not actually interacting directly with him. It will not take long before he realises you are not a threat - then you can try hand feeding and stroking him. Once he is secure with that go for cuddles. I have done this with all of mine and it isn't long before they are all coming up to me for piggy cuddles. The way to a piggys heart is through food so make sure he associates you with good things and he will love you.

It does take time and patience to earn their trust but when you do - it is worth it.

Hi you've been given the best advice, lots of patience is required. It'll seem ages but one day he'll take a piece of fruit from you and from then on you'll be able to give him lots of strokes. Good luck i'm sure you'll both bond :-*

Thanks for all the great replies! I am determined to bond with my little darling. :)

If you sit on the floor or even lay on the floor keeping still, curiosity will eventually overcome him especially if you've got some irresitable parsley near you, just lay it beside you at first and the braver he gets move it nearer to you till you are eventually holding it, and as Kelly says stroke him in his cage don't keep picking him up. Letting him come in and out of his cage by himself bulks up their confidence too! All good fun!
