Help with resizing photos

Can anybody give instructions on increasing the size of photos. Everytime I attach a photo it just looks like a small passport pic. I have been trying all day but not getting anywhere

I don't know how but they always come out really big for me. I take them off my phone or camera on to photobucket, then copy them to here. Is that what you are doing? xx

I joined photobucket and thought I had resized the photo. as you can see above I failed miserably! I will keep trying. . I Dont know where I'm going wrong .
