I heard a noise coming from under my cages, s rustling of a bag. I was convinced it was a rat.. Anyway, it turned out to be beanie! I have absolutely no idea how he got out and I'm therefore no idea how I can keep him in. The only possibility I see is he has climbed out the top level, but well, I don't see how. Will have to get some more wood tomorrow and make it higher I guess. But that may not even be how he's escaped. Also I've noticed that lately they've become rather noisy at night and we have winging neighbours and I'm worried they're going to hear and complain (we are in a council house) is there anything I can do that would keep them a little quieter? Is there anything they can chew that's quiet? Or anything that will entertain them and prevent them running around as much? I just don't want to have to find them a new home if we get complaints.. Thank you for your time reading.

Nope, the only possible way was he somehow climbed over the top of the second level, but I just don't get how he's managed to do it and get to the floor safely. Thankfully he hasn't done it since! I have since moved their cage around so there's nothing to climb on etc as like a booster step lol!

I hope re-arranging the cage layout has sorted out the escapee problem.

They're not THAT noisy are they ?

Well the house he spends a lot of his time in is now in the ground floor, and the beds, and food etc so he won't spend as much time up there now. I've just put 2 tubes for them to run through on top, so fingers crossed we've sorted the problem!
And recently yes mine have become noisey. Roddy chews anything and everything the second the ligh goes off, beanie squeaks, and Galaxy and nibbles charge around sounding like a herd of elephants lol. It's sweet and doesn't bother me but hubby isn't keen and neither will the neighbours be if they hear..

it's sounding like your neighbours aren't the sort of people you could simply ask whether they are bothered about any noise.

No need to ask, last summer my husband was putting a shed up and our neighbour got a stool from Inside and appeared over the top of the fence having a go! After that he started demanding we are quiet every day between 12-3!

Well, as long as it wasn't 12mn - 3am - I don't think that was a reasonable request !
